United States – catering to the lowest common denominator

Exceptionalism is no longer rewarded in today’s society. Instead we dummy down everything to the lowest achievement level of the participants so that no one will “feel bad.” From the feel good soccer games where scores are not kept to the classrooms where there are no failing grades, there is no incentive to do your best or even to make an effort.

The children of today are going to grow up thinking any extraordinary effort to do well is pointless. In our “feel good” society no one fails and everyone is happy.

However, in the real world, effort and achievement do matter. In business, it is those who work the hardest who are the most successful. In professional situations, it is the person who puts in the extra hours who is rewarded with promotions. Effort and ability are important in every adult situation where success is desired.

If we continue to dummy down our kids our great United States will become a Third World country.
